Jake grabs Melissa's arm and pulls her off the dance floor.
"What are you doing?!" she exclaims. "Where are we going?"
"We have to leave right now," Jake replies firmly. "There's no time to explain. We just need to get out of here. Right now."
Jake and Melissa rush out of the ballroom, Melissa struggling to keep up in her high stiletto shoes. They make their way to the car and quickly begin to pull out of the parking lot. As they turn on to the street, Jake glances into the rear view mirror and sees a black SUV right behind them. A terrified and nervous look consumes his face.
"Damn it! They're right behind us!" he yells.
"Who's right behind us?! I don't understand. Jake, why won't you just tell me what's going on?!!"
"Look Melissa, all you need to know is that I'm being followed. The guys in the SUV behind us have been after me for the past 2 weeks. I can't say anything more about it than that."
"But Jake...what are we going to do? They're right behind us. How are we going to lose them?"
"Just trust me baby. I'll get you home safe. Now hold on to your seat belts."
Suddenly, Jake swerves into the far right lane of the street and begins to speed up to almost 80 miles an hour. He continues to swerve recklessly in and out of lanes to maintain his speed, then makes an abrupt right turn towards Melissa's neighborhood. Jake pulls up to her driveway.
"Did we lose them?" Melissa asks in a tense, shaken-up tone.
"We probably just bought ourselves a few minutes. These guys are smart, they'll probably be here soon."
"You mean they know where I live?!"
"These guys are capable of almost anything. If they know that I'm with you, they'll find out where you live. Look, I want you to go inside and pack a bag with some of your things. I think it's best if we make ourselves invisible for the next few days. Melissa, I hate to bring you into all of this. I know we just started seeing each other, but you have to do as I say."
Melissa nods her head in an understanding yet nervous manner. "Okay baby, I'll be right back."
"I'll come in with you and stand guard to make sure you're safe," Jake says to calm Melissa down.
The two of them go inside Melissa's house, and Melissa hurries into her room and begins to pack. Within minutes, Jake hears the sound of a car pulling up into Melissa's driveway. He looks out her front window and sees the black SUV that had been following them earlier.
"Melissa!" Jake cries. "Hurry up! They're in your driveway! We have to leave right now!"
"Okay Okay! I'm coming. We can take my car. It's parked at the back of the house."
Suddenly, men donning black ski masks and black suits break down the front door. Jake immediately tries to escape through the back door of the house, but before he gets there more masked men break down the back door and tackle Jake head-on. Melissa runs out of her room to see what has happened. Unable to break free from the masked men, Jake yells out, "Melissa run! Save yourself!!"
At that moment, one of the masked men punches Jake directly in the face and knocks him out cold. Jake is then carried out of the house and thrown into the back of the black SUV.
Back in the house, the leader of this mysterious group of masked men takes off his mask and says to Melissa with an evil grin, "Nice work Anna. Looks like we finally caught the guy who can lead us to what we've been looking for."
In an annoyed tone, Anna replies, "Thanks Brad, but you guys almost blew it. What the hell took you so long to get here? I swear, if you'd have come any later than you did, Jake would have dragged me out of this house, and our plan would have failed."
"I'm sorry babe. I'll be more on top of things next time," Brad says in a concerned, comforting tone. He then comes towards Anna and kisses her softly on the lips.
